Jen Psaki’s puns belies Democrats’ funding of police mantra

Most of us remember children arguing with another child and then blaming them for starting a fight. When mum walked over you said, “He hit me first. The other child denies and accuses you of hitting him first.

As adults we get more sophisticated when we lie. This is why White House press secretary Jen Psaki said last week in a briefing that “Some might say the other side is for funding the police” all because the Republicans in Congress will not approve two “infrastructure” bills.

Ms Psaki is channeling the day line of Democrats wanting to distract from Democratic mayors and city councils across the country who have voted to take money from police departments, causing cops to quit, retire and make difficult to attract new recruits.

The facts say the opposite is if the facts matter more.

Oakland, Calif., A city ruled and ruined by Democrats for years, decided to cut the police budget by $ 18 million as crime spiraled out of control. Shootings in Oakland have increased by 70%, homicides by 90% and carjackings by 88%. Burglaries, rapes and other crimes have also increased dramatically.

Anyone who doesn’t see a connection between cutting police budgets and increasing crime smokes drugs, which are becoming legal in more and more states.

At least 13 other cities have cut police budgets, cities all run by Democrats.

Forbes magazine keeps track. Perhaps the most ridiculous decision among many is the one made by the Austin, Texas city council. Forbes reports that he “voted unanimously to cut the police budget by $ 150 million (roughly one-third), reinvesting much of that sum in social programs, including access to food,” prevention of violence and access to abortion.

How does “access to abortion” reduce violent and property crimes, especially since abortion is violence against unborn innocent human life?

It is not that social programs are an unproven strategy to reduce crime. Billions have been spent on them. “Midnight basketball” was tried under the Clinton administration on the theory that hoop shooting would deter teens from shooting themselves. Like so many other wellness programs, this one fell short of its stated goal. At least in this basketball bill there was a provision to hire 100,000 more police officers.

The reason we have the law and police officers who have sworn to enforce it (and politicians who take an oath to uphold the law) is that there are people who will not obey the law under any circumstances. The left has used incidents of police brutality and alleged racist behavior to advance an agenda that harms the very people who want and need police protection.

Television interviews with residents of towns and neighborhoods with large minority populations showed that they did not want fewer police officers, but more. They don’t feel safe and now a growing number of police also fear for their lives and careers if they attempt to apprehend suspects.

Democrats wouldn’t get away with their ridiculous claim that Republicans are responsible for funding police without compliant media and the apparent demise of Trump-era fact-checkers.

Thomas Jefferson was right when he said about liars: “He who allows himself to lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, until it becomes a habit”

M / s. Psaki, are you and your fellow Democrats paying attention?
