Quordle started in January 2022, after the founder saw an article verifying Dordle’s name by Guilherme Töws.

Quordle’s creator said in a statement on the site: “It was great to play something more difficult than Wordle, but we still found it rare not to guess both words in seven attempts.

“In a moment of evil and genius, David Mah hacked the first prototype of Quordle on January 30 and linked it to party chat.

“It was really horrible code (it even had 2 keyboards, but I knew I had to keep the madness going.

“Looking back, he really inspired me to finish his monstrous creation.

“Over the next two days I improved the code, removed the second keyboard, and added the color quadrant keyboard.

“I even added Google Analytics, thinking it would be fun to see the stats of our group of friends playing.”

A new Quordle is available from 7 p.m. ET daily. Those who want something else to test their mind while waiting for the next game can try these similar word-based puzzles.
